Challenge
An owner brought in a Longines cal. 30L from his late grandfather. The watch had not run for approximately fifteen years, and the crown had seized. There was also visible corrosion on the case back lugs from storage in a humid environment.
What Was Done
Grand Restoration scope: case back carefully opened, movement photographed and assessed. Crown stem replacement sourced from a Swiss parts supplier. Movement cleaned ultrasonically, mainspring replaced, cannon pinion tightened. Case cleaned externally without buffing. New gasket fitted and pressure tested.
Result
Movement running at +8 seconds per day across five positions. Original dial and finish preserved. Owner received the rate report and pre/post photographs. Timeline: six weeks. Owner: "I had not expected it to run at all. The fact that it kept time at the end was a genuine surprise."
Challenge
A collector noticed his Tudor was losing roughly three minutes a week, which had worsened over the prior six months. The watch was approximately four years past its last service interval and had been worn daily.
What Was Done
Precision Regulation service: movement disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned, dried lubricant replaced throughout. Balance wheel inspected and found in good condition. Six-position regulation brought the rate within COSC-adjacent tolerance. Timing machine confirmed final reading.
Result
Rate report documented: +3 seconds per day dial-up position, +5 seconds crown-up. Significant improvement from pre-service reading of -20 seconds per day. Timeline: nine days. Water resistance confirmed at 100m via dry pressure test before collection.
Challenge
A Nonthaburi-based owner needed a battery for his daily Seiko SUR, plus a replacement NATO strap. Simple task, but he wanted the crown seal checked after a recent beach trip.
What Was Done
Essential Refresh: Swiss silver oxide battery fitted, NATO strap installed at the owner's preferred length. Caseback removed, crown seal inspected — minor compression noted and gasket replaced as a precaution. Case exterior cleaned gently. Pressure test confirmed 50m water resistance.
Result
Completed in two working days. Owner noted the seal replacement had not been requested but was recommended transparently at no extra cost, and found the approach reassuring. Total: ฿3,900 as scoped — no additions.
